Private First-Class Vidal Cade was born December 19, 1895 in San Diego, Jim Wells County, Texas. His father was listed as Vann Cade. His home of record was the Bartlett Ranch in McMullen County. He was inducted into the U. S. Army on October 7, 1917 at Three Rivers, TX. He served in Company E, 103rd Infantry Regiment, 26th Division and was killed in action on September 12, 1918 in France. He is buried in Arlington National Cemetery.
